Greyhound’s Pet Policy Overview

Service dogs are allowed on Greyhound busses

Greyhound is very strict about pets on their buses. They only allow service dogs to ride with passengers.

Service dogs are allowed on Greyhound buses. They help passengers with disabilities and perform specific tasks. Passengers with service animals don’t have to pay extra fees.

Your dog must be certified as a service animal. This means it should be trained to assist you with your disability.

Make sure your dog is leashed or in a carrier during the ride, and enjoy the trip knowing your companion is welcome aboard!

Emotional Support Dogs Not Allowed

Emotional support dogs do not have the same permissions as service dogs on Greyhound buses. According to Greyhound’s policy, they are not allowed on board.

This rule remains strict, serving to ensure a comfortable trip for all travelers.

Greyhound respects the needs of our passengers while maintaining strict policies regarding pets.
Customer Service Statement

If you need any special arrangement or assistance due to a disability, contact customer service at 214-849-7402.

Emotional support animals do not qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines and are considered pets rather than service animals.

The bus operator is required to adhere strictly to these regulations.

Want to Travel with Your Dog? Consider Other Options

Greyhound buses have rules for pets, and they only allow certified service dogs.

There are pros and cons to these policies. On the positive side, it reduces the risks of incidents or allergies among passengers. However, it doesn’t accommodate small pets or emotional support animals like some airlines do.

Overall, these rules offer structure but limit flexibility for pet owners who want to travel by bus instead of using an airplane or Amtrak because, yes – dogs are allowed on Amtrak trains.
