3. Favorite toy: I’ve found that bringing along a familiar toy can help your dog feel more at home in the great outdoors.

Safety should always be a top priority when camping with your dog. Here are some essential safety items to include in your dog camping gear:

1. Pet First aid kit: A pet-specific first aid kit is crucial for addressing any minor injuries or ailments that may occur during your trip.
2. LED collar or light-up harness: I also highly recommend these because they help keep your dog visible in low-light conditions. I don’t know how you feel about that, but I am always a bit anxious when I take my dog out during nighttime potty breaks or early morning walks.
3. Tick remover: Regular tick checks are important when camping. A specialized tick remover tool makes the process quick and easy. And, believe me, your dog will easily get a tick or two within the first day of camping.

A good night’s sleep is imporant for both you and your dog when camping. You have a lot of options to choose from – so you’ll need to put in a bit of research to find the perfect dog bed to keep your pup warm, comfy, and relaxed  throughout the night.

Dog sleeping bags are specifically designed to keep your furry friend warm and cozy during outdoor adventures. They typically feature:

• Water-resistant outer layers to protect against damp conditions
• Zippers or closures to keep your dog snug inside

Before you pick a dog sleeping bag, consider your dog’s size and the expected temperature range of your camping trips.

Personally, I recommend the LifeUnion dog sleeping bag ($32.95) as the combination of polyester (outer layer) and fleece (inner layer) make it perfectly waterproof and very comfortable for your pet.

Obviously, since we are talking about dog camping gear, I do not recommend buying an electric warming pad as those are almost exclusively for indoor use.
